On Thursday (Oct. 11), Kanye West met with President Trump at the Oval Office to discuss a myriad of issues, ranging from his bipolar diagnosis to providing job opportunities in America. Though West left his meeting with a sense of aplomb, his peers, most notably T.I., felt discouraged by the Chicago star’s decision to align himself with Trump.
Following West’s meeting, T.I. eviscerated his oft-collaborator with a series of haymakers on Instagram. “Now I’ve been extremely patient and made it a point to not jump to any premature conclusions about Ye’ & his antics,” T.I. began. “Partially due to the lessons learned from the outcome of other similar situations dealing wit my brother Wayne (which I admittedly mishandled a bit in hindsight) But now this shit is next level, futuristic Sambo, Hopping Bob, Stephen off Django ass shit Ye!!!! From what I can gather… This is the most repulsive, disgraceful, Embarrassing act of desperation & auctioning off of one’s soul to gain power I’ve ever seen.”
T.I. later revealed how West asked him to come along for his trip to the White House and how he turned down the offer. “Now I recall you asking me to come with you to have this meeting and I declined (naturally)… but bro… if ain’time I would’ve been in there wit you and you behaved that spinelessly in my presence,” T.I. says. “I feel that I’d be compelled to slap de’Fuq outta you bro For the People!!! You ass kissing and boot licking on a whole new level &I refuse to associate myself with something so vile, weak,& inconsiderate to the effect this has on the greater good of ALL OUR PEOPLE!!!!”
Previously, West and T.I. have squared off about their issues with Trump on several occasions. Earlier this year, West released “Ye vs. The People,” a track in which T.I. went on the defensive and countered each one of West’s views. “Ye’s being welcomed by these fascist Republicans. Now, I can imagine why,” T.I. recalled in a June interview with Billboard. “I don’t know if he sees it that way. He might see it as the support he always should have gotten from this community. It’s like, ‘These motherfuckers see that I’m the shit. They know my potential. They see what I can do. They want me on their side.’ That’s my interpretation from being around it as long as I have.”
